The UWE Marking Allocation tool has been developed by UWE Bristol to overcome some of the shortcomings of the Blackboard Grade Centre and to better support the allocation of coursework submissions to markers. Whilst there are limitations on what can developed with the Blackboard Grade Centre, the tool will help streamline the marking allocation process and provide each marker with a list of specific students to mark, directly linking to the student‘s attempt in the Grade Centre. The marks and feedback are added in the Grade Centre view and once saved, the user is then returned to the allocation list.
Overview of functions:
- Allocate first marking | - Markers see just their allocations |
- Links directly to the Grade Centre attempt | - Can be anonymous |
- Email notification to markers | - Provides overview of marking progress |
- Ability to see student comments | - Able to allocate set number per marker |
Please note: Whilst Group assignments will be listed in the allocation tool, we do not recommend using it for group marking. It will allocate students individually rather than by group and take you into individual attempts rather than the group attempt. Please see our guidance on group marking.
