Important: Access to these types of meetings requires the Blackboard course to have a synchronised Teams Class (you do not need to use of the Teams Class for anything else if you do not wish to). Guidance on Generating a Teams Class for your Blackboard course is available.
There are two types of meetings:
Private / assessment meetings: for meetings where specific users only are invited. For example a student assessment or a personal performance meeting. Only the people invited to a private / assessment meeting will be able to see and join the meeting in their list of upcoming meetings, receive an email invite, see the meeting in their Outlook and Teams calendars. Open / group meetings: for meetings where anyone on the module run can attend. For example sessions for the whole module or drop-in meetings. Anyone on the module will see and join the meeting from their list of upcoming meetings. Only people specifically invited will receive an email invite or see the meeting in their Outlook and Teams calendars. Open / group meeting recorded demo. Please note that you will need to activate the Teams class in order to use this type of meeting as it uses the Teams ‘group’.
Migration of meeting recordings to Panopto: When setting up a meeting, the user will have the option to migrate the teams recording to Panopto. Recordings for Private / assessment meetings are by default set to automatically migrate to Panopto. The original recording will remain in OneDrive and a copy of the recording is placed in the course folder in panopto, within either a Private online meetings folder, or an Open online meetings folder. Students will have view access to the Open online meetings folder but not the Private online meetings folder.
