If a course folders setting has been changed to “never (unless set on the session)”, each individual recording for that course will need to have its availability changed to allow the students to view the recording. This can be done in two ways-
(The following methods can also be used to publish a recording early)
- If you are publishing your recordings in Blackboard using individual links, this action will automatically make the recording available to students.
- If you are publishing your recordings in Blackboard using a folder link, you will need to update the availability on the appropriate recorded session within the Panopto cloud.
Quick Steps: Publishing a recording session in both the Panopto cloud and Blackboard via an individual link
- Enter the relevant Blackboard course.
- Enter the Content area that you want the link to contain.
- Select Tools
- Select Panopto Video Link
- Select the folder for the course.
- Select the appropriate recording from the lecture drop down.
- Optionally edit the title.
- Optionally edit the description.
- Select submit
Completing the above actions will change the recording session setting in the Panopto cloud to make the recording immediately available.

Note: This method relies on an automatic folder having already been setup in Blackboard for the course – click here for guidance on creating an automatic folder to show all contents of a Panopto folder.
- Log in to Blackboard
- Click the Tools tab
- Click Panopto Event Capture
The Panopto cloud will open - Click sign in
- Click Browse
- Click My Folders
- Find and click the required folder (this will be available under the My Folders section)
- Hover over the recording to be published
- Click the Settings icon (cog wheel)
- Scroll down the window that opens
- Click Session becomes available now or change the starting date and time as appropriate
- Click X
The recording will now be available immediately to students or on the date and time set via the Panopto cloud and will also show in any Panopto folders created in Blackboard for the course.
