Adding a Kaltura file to your course

NOTE: Kaltura has now been replaced by Panopto. Any new recordings should be made using Panopto. Kaltura is currently being used as a media repository for old recordings, however if any Kaltura content is required beyond September 2022 it must be moved to Panopto (and re-linked in Blackboard from Panopto) or re-recorded in Panopto.

Instructors can link to Kaltura media content in any content area of a course.

QUICK STEPS: Linking to a Kaltura file

  1. Enter the content area of your course where you want students to access the media.
  2. Select Build Content.
  3. Select Kaltura Media and your My Media area will be displayed.
  4. Find the media that you want to link to and click on Select.
    • Note: If the media you wish to publish is not stored in your My Media but you have collaborative rights on it, you may need to change the view via the filters button.
  5. If you have not already added the media file to your My Media area, use the Add New button. Please see our guidance on adding new media.
  6. Enter a Name for the media.
  7. Optionally enter a Description.
  8. Optionally set date and time restrictions.
  9. Select Submit.
  10. The media item will be displayed in the course content area.
