Staff queries

• I am not attached to the courses that I am teaching

  The courses which you see in Blackboard are the courses that your staff record is attached to in the Student Record system, ISIS.
  
  If you are missing courses or are attached to incorrect courses in Blackboard, please contact the appropriate Faculty Student Administration Team (SAT) so that they can update ISIS:
  

  • ACE.SAT@uwe.ac.uk for Arts, Creative Industries and Education
  • FBL.SAT@uwe.ac.uk for Faculty of Business and Law
  • FET.SAT@uwe.ac.uk for Faculty of Environment and Technology
  • HLS.SAT@uwe.ac.uk for Health and Life Sciences

  Once ISIS has been updated, this should correct your Blackboard courses following an overnight feed of data.

• I need help understanding how to use a specific function in Blackboard

  We have staff guides on using the various areas of Blackboard - please see the list of staff guides which are available to you.

• I need help with Online Assessment and the Offline Marking tool

  For help with Online Assessment, please see our Online Assessment guidance pages. This includes information about marking using the Offline Marking tool.

• How do I contact Corporate and Academic Services (CAS)?

  Contact information for CAS can be found on the Corporate and Academic Services webpage. If you have a query but are not sure who to contact they have a helpline on 0117 32 87999.

Student queries

• I see courses in Blackboard that I am not studying

  Please make the Student Records team aware that you are attached to a course which you are not studying. Once they have updated the student record system, this should correct your Blackboard courses following an overnight feed of data.

• I am missing a course in Blackboard

  If you can see the course listed in myUWE under ‘Blackboard Courses not currently in use by the tutor’, you will not be able to access it until your tutor makes it available to students. Please contact your tutor with queries about when the course will be made available.
  
  If the course is not listed at all on the Blackboard Courses tab in myUWE, please contact the Faculty Student Administration Team (SAT) so that they may attach you to the module in the student record system:

• I cannot log into Blackboard

  If you can log into myUWE but not Blackboard, it may be that your enrolment/registration is not complete and is blocking your access to Blackboard. Please contact the Faculty Student Administration Team (SAT) who will be able to advise you if anything is outstanding from your enrolment/registration:

  Please speak with your course tutor. Contact details can usually be found in the module handbook.

• I get an error message in my course

  Please check the list of errors we have on our Frequently Asked Questions page and follow the instructions provided.

• I need help understanding how to use a specific function in Blackboard

  We have student guides on using the various areas of Blackboard - please see the list of student guides which are available to you.

• I need help with submitting online and viewing my mark and feedback

  We have student guides on Online Assessment including how to make your submission; how to check your submission was successful; and also how to view your mark and feedback.
