The Module Leader may ask the External Examiner to access specific student work and marking directly from the Blackboard Grade Centre. Below are some steps to help External Examiners who are not familiar with the Grade Centre:
- Login to Blackboard and from the right hand menu click on My Programme then My Modules
- All the modules you are attached to will be listed - click on the module name that you need view
- From the left hand Course Management area, select Grade Centre, then Full Grade Centre
- There will be a column for each assessment - use the column headers to locate the assessment that you need to sample
- You will have been provided with the student numbers (or names) of the students that the Module Leader wants you to view. Each student is a row. You can sort on the Student ID or name columns by clicking on the column heading
- Hover in the cell for a student and click once to see the drop down
- Select View Mark Details
- Important - please be aware that you will have edit permissions but you must not make any changes to the marking done
- From the View Mark Details screen you can:
- see the final mark entered
- see and access any feedback text or attachments provided to the student
- see any marking notes entered (this may contain details of any second marking carried out)
- access the student submission
- When you access the student submission attempt, make sure you are viewing the latest attempt made e.g. if a student made 2 attempts you must view attempt 2 of 2.
- You will be able to see the submitted file(s) in the Blackboard annotate frame - Please note that not all markers use this tool.
- You are also able to download the submitted files from the right hand pane
- To exit and return to the full Grade Centre, from the student submission attempt screen select Exit, or from the View Mark Details screen select Return to Grade Centre
- Repeat this process for all the students you have been asked to sample
