ISIS fed assignments due from 1st September 2023 (for modules starting from 1st August 2023) will have a 48 hour late window
There is currently no flag against work items in ISIS to indicate that a particular assessment is excluded from the late submission window and therefore Blackboard has no way of automating this.
Any work item set up to be a full Blackboard assignment submission in ISIS, will automatically have the 48 hour late submission window added when it feeds into Blackboard.
In cases where there are specific and unavoidable reasons why it is not possible to facilitate a 48 hour late submission window, the Module Leader should request that an exemption is authorised by the Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching. For Assessments that are authorised as exempt, the Academic Module Teams will need to edit the specific assignment submission point created by ISIS in Blackboard, and update the display until date and time to match the due date and time, thereby removing the default 48 hour late submission window.
The Academic Module Teams must make their students aware where no late submission window will be available for an assessment.
The following steps explain how to do this:
- Once the assignment has fed into the Blackboard module from ISIS, go to the Assessment area of the module or if for a resit, the Resit Materials area).
- Hover over the assignment title and click to expand the drop down menu.
- Select Edit.
- Scroll down to the Availability section and change the Display Until date and time to be the same as the Due Date and time.
- Select Submit.
- The assignment will now only be available for submission upto to the new Display Until date set. Marking can start as soon as this date and time has passed.
