The module provides students with the tools to operate as an effective facilitator working in diverse situations and reflect on their own facilitation methods, and those of others. Students will also become aware of the ethics and policy requirements of working with young people, vulnerable adults and people with disabilities.
Students complete 3 practical tasks during this module consisting of being observed facilitating a session, observing others, and producing a report to be submitted as text and presentations, with supporting research material.
Teaching and Learning Methods:
A series of lectures, seminars, workshops, practical tasks, on-line lectures and discussions run during the module. These are designed support the development of intellectual and practical skills, and encourage students to debate and question their perception of participatory creative practice.
Progress is guided by on-line discussion, group and individual meetings. Submitted research files and completed tasks form a key part of the student’s learning.
Assessment is conducted through the delivery of projects (tasks) in response to a set brief, and a research file which outlines contextual research submitted as supporting material.
