Sample Structure

Samples/packages uploaded for you will be of two types:

  1. Manual Upload
  2. Online Assessment

The type of sample/package which has been uploaded for you can be seen in the External Examiner tool after clicking on the View Packages/Samples link for the required module.

Manual uploads are files which have been added for you to view by the module team. These types of packages/samples are unlikely to contain a file structure and will simply contain any files uploaded.

Online Assessment uploads have been created using our online marking tool. The online Assessment sample structure is explained below.

  • a folder for each student that has been included.
  • an overallMarks.xls spreadsheet including first, second and resolved marks for the sample.
  • an extendedSetMarks.xls spreadsheet containing the marking for the extended set the sample was taken from.
  • a module_info.txt file which provides details of the Module Code (Blackboard Course ID) and the assignment name.
  • any additional files that the Module Leader has attached manually for the External Examiner to see.
  • a README.txt file which provides guidance on what the zip file contains.

Each student folder will contain a:

  • Submission folder which includes:
    • All files which the student submitted
    • a .txt file with any text that the student added to their submission (if they added some)
  • Marker1 folder which includes:
    • Any feedback files added by the first marker
    • A .txt file with any text feedback added by the first marker (if they added some)
  • Marker2 folder (where the student had been second marked) which includes:
    • Any feedback files added by the second marker
    • A .txt file with any text feedback added by the second marker (if they added some)
  • MR folder (where there has been Marks Resolution) which includes:
    • Any feedback files added by the Resolver Marker during Marks Resolution
    • A .txt file with any text feedback added by the Resolver Marker during Marks Resolution (if they added some)
  • Marking Sheet text file which details the mark and text feedback given for Marker 1, Marker 2 and Resolver Marker, for that particular student
