Publishing content to a course Media Gallery

NOTE: Kaltura has now been replaced by Panopto. Any new recordings should be made using Panopto. Kaltura is currently being used as a media repository for old recordings, however if any Kaltura content is required beyond September 2022 it must be moved to Panopto (and re-linked in Blackboard from Panopto) or re-recorded in Panopto.

The Media Gallery is a searchable gallery of media that has been assigned to a specific course. At UWE, only instructors may upload content to a course Media Gallery

Students will only have access to the Media Gallery if a link has been provided by the instructors. Please see our guidance below on how to create a link to the Media Gallery.

Instructors access the Media Gallery from the Control Panel of the course and by selecting ‘Course Tools’ and then ‘Media Gallery’.

QUICK STEPS: Adding a My Media file to a course’s Media Gallery

Note: If the media you wish to publish is not stored in your My Media but you have collaborative rights on it, you will need to change the view via the View Media I own drop down.

  1. From your My Media area, select the tick box to the left of the file you want to add to a course Media Gallery. You can select multiple files.
  2. Select Actions and then Publish.
  3. Select the Published option.
  4. A list of courses that you are attached to will appear. Select the tick box to the left of the course(s) that you want the file to appear in the course Media Gallery.
  5. Select Save.
  6. You will see a green confirmation that your media has been published.
  7. Under Published in: you will see the number of courses and the course names that the media item is published in.
