Success for UWE Bristol students at national RTS Student Television Awards

Talented TV and filmmaking students from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) have won an impressive six categories at the national RTS Student Television Awards 2022.

The awards are designed to highlight the talent, potential and enthusiasm of students across the UK, celebrating the exemplary audio-visual work they create. The awards also provide a unique opportunity for students to get their work seen by leading figures within the television industry.

Undergraduate Factual

EDEN – Charlie Bush, Patrick Whinder-Montague, Barney Janes, Sam Schoettner, Maryam Bahaari, Guy Newland & Ethan Harper.

Undergraduate News and Sport

The Third Man – Curtis Pyke, Georgia Savoie, Ian Bedwell, Jenna Wallace & Edward Lawton.

Postgraduate Sustainability

Flight of the Puffin – Rakel Dawn Hanson.

All three nominees in this category were students at UWE Bristol.

Dr Anna Piasecki, Head of School of Creative and Cultural Industries, said: “Firstly, a huge congratulations to all our exceptional students, who have clearly demonstrated their creativity and skills among some really tough competition.

“UWE Bristol is continuing to attract some very talented people, which reflects the excellent teaching reputation and support the university offers to students.”
