Family-friendly Festival of Sound back at Colston Hall

The annual one-day Festival of Sound, hosted by UWE Bristol's Centre for Music, is back with family-friendly performances, workshops and stunning concerts, all taking place at Bristol's iconic Colston Hall.

With the main hall under refurbishment, the Festival of Sound will explore some of the other spaces around Colston Hall, including a live DJ set in the foyer and a specially commissioned immersive audio experience in the education suite.

Performances and workshops throughout the day, including barbershop, pop, blues, jazz and performances from local schools are all free before the day culminates in the main evening concert (tickets £5/£10).

The UWE Bristol Orchestra and Singers will be joined by Technicolour Choir and Big Band, as well as choirs from Beacon Rise Primary School, Bannerman Road Community Academy and Fishponds Church of England Academy, following the Centre for Music Schools Outreach week, where UWE Bristol musicians work run a day of music workshops in our partner schools.

The programme for the evening concert includes Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei, as well as music from Sister Act, Jungle Book and James Bond before a huge musical theatre finale.

Festival of Sound takes place on Saturday 30 March with performances beginning at 10.30. The main concert begins at 18.00.
