2 for 2: Fashion student offered prestigious Creative Skillset placement

Nikoleta Dimova, a third year Fashion student at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), has been awarded a prestigious two month placement at Sreepriya Exports Ltd in India, as part of the BA (Hons) in Fashion programme's Creative Skillset 'Tick' accreditation.

The placement opportunity was open to all studying on a Creative Skillset 'Tick' accredited fashion courses, with students across 11 accredited programmes applying and competing for the chance to work for one of the fashion industries leading providers of embroidery, printing (screen and digital) and fabric sourcing.

Established in 1983, Sreepriya Exports Ltd, is a Fashion Production House that manufactures specialised textiles, garments, accessories and semi-precious jewellery for a number of leading international designers, including: Dries Van Noten and Peter Pilotto. The company also has a team of in-house designers who produce their own collection, which is subsequently sold to designers across the world.

Deb Southerland, Programme Leader BA (Hons) Fashion and BA (Hons) Fashion Communication, says, “Nikoleta submitted a really strong portfolio of work as part of her application and has done incredibly well to be selected for this fantastic opportunity. Creative Skillset have offered two awards this year, and UWE Fashion students have been successful in both; winning this placement, and finishing as the runner up in the prestigious Anne Tyrell Fashion Design award.”

Nikoleta says, “I am extremely excited and proud to have won this competition, I am very much looking forward to undertaking, what will surely be an incredible experience, after I finish my studies. I am also truly grateful to all the academic and technical staff at UWE, who have helped me to build my portfolio."
