'The Gloves' represent a significant development of previous work by Imogen and DrTom Mitchell, a lecturer and researcher from UWE Bristol.The performance will be streamed live on Sunday 22 April at 19.30.

    UWE Bristol has invested in communication and collaboration technology from Microsoft in partnership with HP, Polycom, Juniper and Schneider to transform its teaching environment. The university is using technologies including Microsoft Lync and SharePoint to extend its learning environment beyond the four walls of the classroom and is giving its students the opportunity to learn in a variety of environments.

    The Etruscan shrew, one of the world's tiniest mammals, measuring around 4 centimetres long, is the inspiration for a ground-breaking new robot developed to use sophisticated whiskers to find its way around.

    The Shrewbot is the latest in a series of robots which use 'active touch' rather than vision to navigate their environment.
