    UWE Bristol Filmmaking students have been working alongside professional film makers VS1 Productions on a half hour drama commissioned by British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust. The drama 'Life Out There' was broadcast on Film4 on Monday 10 September at 08:00.

    UWE Bristol Graphic Design student Rebecca Penmore, has won a national award from the RSA www.thersa.org with her project 'The Pub Hub Club,' a scheme that aims to keep pubs at the heart of local communities by maximising the space and social aspects that already exist. Rebecca won an internship at Waitrose in the Graphic Design Department, under the immediate direction of the Head of Graphic Design.

The Show takes place at Bower Ashton Campus near Ashton Court, Spike Island Studios, and BV Studios in Windmill Hill. Admission is free.

  • UWE Bristol student gains recognition for wild orchid research

    A UWE Bristol student is pursuing a passion for researching wild orchids alongside his undergraduate history degree.

    At 21, Dino Zelenika is used to being the youngest person at the various orchid associations and meetings he attends. Despite his age Dino has already carried out field research into wild orchids in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH) where he was born. This research with his photos will feature in the latest issue of the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) journal The Orchid Review. The Orchid Review is the oldest and most influential orchid magazine in the world, and has been published since 1893, when Victorian society was in the grip of orchid mania.
