    The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has moved up seven places in the Complete University Guide. The Guide is influential in helping new students make key decisions and is used by teachers and parents to support applicants who are considering applying to UK Universities.

    UWE is ranked 60th for 2018, a rise of seven places from last year. This uplift driven by significant performance increases Student Satisfaction (NSS), Graduate Prospects (DLHE) and Academic Services Spend per Student indicators.

    Professor Steven West, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), will be awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) as announced in the New Year Honours list today for his services to Education.

    The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has appointed Helen Lloyd Wildman as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer.

    Professor Steve West welcomed Helen's appointment by saying, “We are very excited that we have secured Helen for the UWE Bristol senior team. She brings a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable to us as we work towards delivery of the 2020 strategy.”

  • UWE Bristol top post 1992 University in the South West


    The University of the West of the England (UWE Bristol) is the top post 1992 University in the South West according to the latest Complete University Guide. The University has climbed three places since last year from 56th place to 53rd.

  • UWE Bristol gets planning go ahead for student housing


    UWE Bristol has received planning permission from South Gloucestershire Council for a new development of student housing on Frenchay Campus. The project will consist of 396 student bedrooms in a development of town houses.

  • UWE Bristol will be open as usual on 3 December 2013 - National Day of Action in HE

    The Unions, UCU (University and College Union), Unison and UNITE have voted to take nationwide HE sector strike action on 3 December 2013 on pay issues.

    They have called for national industrial action on 3 December 2013. This means that the Unions have asked all staff who are members of the Unions at UWE Bristol not to take part in any University activity on that day. Not all UWE Bristol staff are members of the Unions.

  • UWE Bristol students and staff to benefit from signing of agreement with Santander


    Scholarships, travel bursaries, enterprise prizes and internships are among the benefits that UWE Bristol will receive as part of the partnership agreement with Santander Universities Global Division which will be signed this week. The three year agreement, which amounts to £40,000 per year for a three year period with an additional £15,000 to support internships in the first year, will focus on international exchange, entrepreneurial activities and the mobility of students and researchers within universities that already partner with Santander.
