Stage 1: Registration Form

If you failed any modules during the last academic year, you will see this message. Please visit the Resits and Retake Information webpage for more information.

If you have failed one or more modules, you can register online but your fees may be adjusted at a later date. For further information, please see the Resits and Retake Information webpage.

The registration form is in 6 sections, which are as follows:

If you are:

  • a student fully-funded by Student Finance (SLC) and we have received details of the funding
  • a student fully-funded by the NHS
  • an international student who has paid all tuition fees before registration
  • a Degree Apprenticeship student

You will be fully registered once you have completed the Registration Form.

For all other students, you will be fully registered but must make arrangements to complete your fee payment details. You can do this by paying your tuition fees online or you can leave your registration and return at a later date.

If you are unable to pay your fees as part of the online registration process, you will need to use an alternative payment method.

Section 1 - Course Details

The first section on the registration form shows your course details. Below is an example.

example screenshot of Section 1 - Course Details

Study mode - this is your mode of attendance on this course - please note that this may display sandwich when you believe you are studying full-time. This is because all students on this course are registered as ‘sandwich’ in years 1 and 2. If you decide not to do a placement in your 3rd year, your record will be moved to the full-time course. However, if you are a final year student and this shows sandwich when it should show full-time, please contact the University.

If your course details are correct, please tick the ‘I confirm that the above Course Details are correct’ box.

If you have had a transfer approved that is not showing, your record will update automatically in due course and you should continue with your registration on your existing course.  Please tick the ‘I confirm that the above Course Details are correct’ box to continue with your registration on your existing course, and your record will be transferred at a later date. If your course details are not correct, please contact the University.

If any of the other information is wrong, please contact the University.

Please note that all emails confirming your registration will be sent to your UWE email address and, if one has been specified, your personal email address.

If the information regarding your Nationality or Disability Allowance is wrong, please contact the University. Please note, that when declaring a disability, you may now choose to select multiple conditions if more than one applies to you. If you have selected one or more options other than “no known impairment, health condition or learning difference” please email your medical evidence to disability@uwe.ac.uk if you have not done so already. Reasonable adjustments can then be put in place and further advice offered. Please refer to guidance here for more info.

Stage 2: Payment of tuition fees

This section is for students who are eligible to complete their registration by paying their fees as part of the online registration process.

For all Home and EU students

After completing your online Registration Form (Stage 1) you will be fully registered and we will calculate the tuition fees due for your course. We will show you, in the Fees page, the information we have at that point of the fee due for your course. At this stage we take into account any student support loan from Student Finance (administered by the Student Finance (SLC)).

If you are fully-funded by the SLC and we have received details of that funding, or if you are fully-funded by the NHS, there is no need for you to make any payment in online registration.

If you are in receipt of funding from the SLC and we have not received details of that funding, we will display the latest information we have in the Fees page. We receive daily updates from the SLC so if the information shown does not appear to include details of your SLC funding support, you should return at a later date to check whether we have received the information from the SLC. If you do not agree with the calculation because you have received a financial notification which shows a different amount, you must contact Student Finance (Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, Student Finance Northern Ireland, Student Awards Agency Scotland) without delay, contact details for which are included with your financial notification.

If you leave Online Registration at this stage and return at a later date, you will be shown the Payment Required page. To get back to the Fees page, please click on the ‘Calculate Fees’ button.

If you are still waiting for notification of tuition fee support from Student Finance England, you must act now - see Registering on your programme and delayed funding for details.

example screenshot of the Payment Required page

For all international students

We will calculate your tuition fees, including any scholarships and discounts you have been given and any payments you have already made. Click on the ‘Calculate Fees’ button to see the amount that you need to pay.

If you leave Online Registration at this stage and return later, you will be shown the Payment Required page. To get back to the Fees page click on the ‘Calculate Fees’ button.

If you have already paid your fees

If you have already paid your fees and are awaiting confirmation of your registration, please click the ‘Check Status’ button on the Payment Required page to check whether your record has been updated.

Please note that if you have paid your fees via an alternative payment method, it may take several weeks before your registration record is updated.

Fees

For Home and EU students

Please see the page for EU undergraduates for up-to-date EU funding information.

This page shows your remaining Amount to pay towards your course tuition fees, including any tuition fee grant and/or loan from Student Finance (SLC).

You should see your Student Support Number at the top, please check that this is correct. (If “Not known” is showing this means that we haven’t received details from the SLC. Once this is received, your Student Support Number will be displayed.)

If you are in receipt of funding from the SLC and we have not received details of that funding, the latest information that we have will be shown on the Fees page. We receive daily updates from the SLC so if the information shown does not include details of your SLC funding support, please check back at a later date to see if it has been updated. If you do not agree with the calculation because you have received a financial notification which shows a different amount, you must contact Student Finance directly.

Below your student support number, you will see your tuition fee details, including the total course fee, available grants and loans and your outstanding amount to pay. For example:

How to pay your tuition fee online

Clicking the ‘Pay Online’ button will take you to web payments. This is a secure site where you can check details, enter your payment card or direct debit information and confirm payment.

Once your fees have been paid, you will be redirected to myUWE where your registration will be confirmed. Please note that there can be a delay in the registration confirmation following payment.

If you do not agree with the amount to pay

For all Home and EU students

This may be because we haven’t received notification of your support from the Student Finance (SLC). We receive daily updates of this information so you can return to your registration at any time to check.

Your financial notification will have been sent to you by Student Finance. If you have received a financial notification which shows a different amount from the amount shown in online registration, you must check this with Student Finance directly.
