Using Photosets

The Photosets tab allows staff to access groups of student Photographs.

To view a set of photographs, select the group from the 'Your Groups' list and select the 'View Selected Group' button.

Depending on your access, Groups will be listed in the following order:

  1. by School
  2. by Primary Award
  3. by RAG
  4. by Primary Target
  5. by Module Run
  6. by SyllabusPlus activities

Once you have selected and viewed a group, you will be presented with the 'Student Photos' page displaying the photographs. Where no photograph is held for a student, a place holder image will be displayed.

At the bottom of the ‘Student Photos’ page, there are a couple of options: you can navigate between multiple pages by using the ‘page x of y’ chevron button; the ‘Format for Printer’ button will display all the photographs on one ‘printer friendly’ page; and the ‘Select a different group’ link will take you back to your group listings.

Who can access the Photosets tab

The ability to view student photosets in myUWE is available only to members of staff who have been granted access, either by being attached to a teaching activity in SyllabusPlus or by being attached as a viewer in ISIS.

Attached to a teaching activity in SyllabusPlus

A member of staff who is attached to a teaching activity in SyllabusPlus will have access to view the photoset for that activity, as long as the activity is associated with a Module Run in ISIS.

This is entirely dependent on the school using SyllabusPlus for timetabling at student level. This list is an indication of which schools use SyllabusPlus appropriately.

Attached as a viewer in ISIS

In addition, a member of staff who has been attached to a specific group in ISIS as a Viewer will have access to view the photoset for that group. An attachment as a viewer in ISIS will enable a member of staff to view the photosets for students registered on the group to which they are attached and for students registered on the "children" of the group.

The groups to which attachment is available in ISIS are:

  • Primary award
  • Module Run

In the case of an attachment as a viewer to the Primary Award a member of staff is able to view the photosets for students registered on the Primary Award and for students registered on its "children" (Primary Targets and RAGs).

In the case of an attachment as a viewer to the Module Run a member of staff is able to view the photosets for students registered on the Module Run and for students attached in SyllabusPlus to its "children" (SyllabusPlus activities).

Announcements

If staff also have an attachment to the module run in ISIS as an ‘Announcer’, they will have the ability to publish an announcement to groups of students from the Photosets page. Using this function posts an announcement to the myUWE Announcements area (it does not send an e-mail).
