This session will provide an insight into what intellectual property (IP) is and how it relates to your research. You'll find out how to use copyright material legally in your doctoral thesis or other research outputs, from seeking permission and attributing material to finding and using copyright-free and creative commons licensed resources. Along the way we'll dispel some common myths and pitfalls about IP and copyright, and explain the UWE Bristol IP policy.

Learning outcomes:

  • A knowledge of intellectual property
  • How IP is relevant to research and writing your thesis
  • What the UWE IP policy means

Aimed at UWE Bristol Postgraduate Researchers and research staff.

Joining instructions will be sent to participants nearer the time.
