Reading retreat

Description:

Are you working on a dissertation or final year project? Do you feel like you have lots of reading to do? This reading retreat is a space for you to focus on your reading, providing quiet time to dedicate to reading, whilst being structured to help you focus on what you want to learn from your reading, make sense of what you are reading and consider how what you have read fits in to what you already know.

You must bring at least two texts that you want to read during the session.

This workshop is a pilot and is open to all students and staff.

Workshop objectives:

This session aims to:

  • Provide quiet time for you to focus on the two pieces of reading you have brought
  • Include some short activities to help you focus on what you want to gain from your reading and to make sense of it
