Want to be a PAL leader next academic year? We're recruiting! And need students from a wide range of UWE Bristol degree programmes and from all campuses.

Join a member of the PAL team and current PAL leaders online to find out more about what Peer Assisted Learning is, about the role and how to apply online. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions!

What's involved?

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders facilitate group based study sessions and workshops for other students in order to: ease the transition into Higher Education; adjust to uni life; improve study habits; enhance academic or technical understanding; develop the life skills of resilience.

Benefits of being a PAL leader:

  • Help other students to help themselves.
  • Develop the soft skills employers look for e.g. leadership, interpersonal communication, time management.
  • Be equipped with mentoring and facilitation techniques.
  • Connect with other students and your course.
  • Get involved in internal and external networking events and conferences.
  • Engage with learning and development opportunities e.g. ILM Level 3 in Effective Mentoring.
  • Gain experience in using online learning platforms and digital tools.
