Perminder Mann, CEO of Bonnier Books UK, a publishing company with sales of over £80 million and a regular on the publishing industry power lists, shares an honest account of her path to success. Overcoming personal obstacles and challenging stereotypes head on, Perminder argues how we all must bring our authentic selves to work. As a passionate believer in the power of books and the role the publishing industry must play in our society, Perminder also lays out her manifesto for positive change.

Perminder Mann is the CEO of Bonnier Books UK, a major UK publisher with sales of £80 million. Bonnier Books UK is part of Bonnier Books, a family-owned company headquartered in Sweden and a top 15-world publisher.Perminder is one of only ten BAME women to appear in a survey of the UK's 1,097 most powerful leaders, conducted by Green Park and Operation Black Vote. She also appears annually in the UK's top 100 most influential people in book publishing, a list compiled by the industry's trade magazine, The Bookseller, and in 2015 was named as one of the top 10 most influential people in publishing and writing, at the prestigious Hospital Club h100 awards. She is the Chair of the Publisher's Association Consumer Publisher's Council.
The Bristol Distinguished Address Series provides a unique opportunity to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership.
The series is delivered by the Bristol Business School in partnership with ACCA, Bristol City Council, Bristol Creative Industries, Bristol Junior Chamber, Bristol Law Society, Business West, CBI, CIPD, CIPFA, CMI, FSB, IoD, ICAEW and the West of England Combined Authority.
All addresses will be recorded and we will aim to make them available as a video on YouTube one week after the lecture, subject to approval of the speaker and no technical difficulties with the recording. Podcasts from previous series can be viewed on our previous address archive.
