Develop the Resilient You at UWE Bristol. A proactive approach to growing your confidence for when challenges hit at university and beyond. You'll learn how to develop your self-empowerment, support network and how to learn from challenges. This workshop is suitable for all subjects and all levels of study.

Why attend?

Throughout your time at university you'll face many challenges - like meeting new people, delivering presentations, taking exams and juggling your social life. These workshops are interactive and discussion based so you don't need to know anything about resilience before attending. With 75% of attendees rating the session as 4/5 or 5/5, why not join?

"Thank you for the session, it made me feel normal because everyone struggles sometimes" – Bower Ashton student

"I found the workshop useful and eye opening, I feel able to better deal with exams now" – Postgraduate student

We've created a short video outlining the skills of Resilience which are covered in each session.

There are three skills of resilience which are discussed in session each with practical tips on how to improve:

  • self-empowerment (when times get tough, try to first fix it yourself or get into an emotional state where you can properly talk to people)
  • support (even if you think you've dealt with it yourself, it's good to talk to others to help calm you down, distract you, help fix it or talk about it)
  • learning from it (once you dealt with the issue, learn from it so it doesn't happen again, or you get better at dealing with it).
