This compulsory session for those UWE Postgrauate Researchers (PGRs) who intend to teach at UWE Bristol will explore the principles of teaching and learning, focusing on the needs of those who are new to teaching.

It will enable you to:

  • analyse your own teaching skills
  • identify learners' needs
  • examine various principles of learning
  • recognise how to manage learners
  • justify appropriate ways of facilitating learning
  • check that learning has taken place
  • evaluate and review own teaching skills in light of new knowledge learnt in the workshop.

This workshop, delivered by Yvonne Finn, is the minimum requirement for those who want to teach in any format (e.g. demonstrating, assisting on field trips, lecturing, marking etc.) Human Resources therefore will not issue a contract for these types of work at UWE Bristol unless you've attended.

Aimed at UWE Bristol PGRs at any stage of their studies.
