Join us for a series of three workshops to develop essential money skills and get confident about your finances. Ultimately giving you the essential skills to flourish both at University and in life after graduation. The Financial Capability Module blends the practical with the theoretical to help you understand financial management and financial products. The FC module is part of UWE Futures Award and all UWE Bristol students are welcome to attend.

This module take place on three consecutive Wednesday afternoons between 14:00 – 17:00 on Frenchay Campus. Each workshop finishes with a quiz and opportunity to win prizes. We provide biscuits, chocolate and a friendly atmosphere where you can learn and meet other students.

Workshop 1: attitude to money, maximising income and reducing expenditure, creating a budget, financial products, student loan

External speaker and the chance to win £100

The first workshop includes a guest speaker from an award winning financial service company Hargreaves Lansdown. Joseph Sykes, who works as a Workplace Savings Specialist, will take a look at the basics of investing, saving towards a property and how to budget for life after University. There will be a chance to win a £100 voucher.

The Financial Capability module won the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) Financial Capability Engagement Award in June 2018.
