Description

Learn how prefixes and suffixes aid understanding the meaning of business English.

This is an interactive workshop with exercises to help you to develop as a word 'detective'. Have fun as you learn with a game of business English dominoes.

This workshop is a part of the Communication Skills for International Students (CSIS) programme.

It is aimed at speakers of English as a second language.

Objectives

At the end of the session, we hope you will feel more confident:

  • Understanding the structure of vocabulary to recognise the function of prefixes and suffixes
  • Using suffixes and prefixes to guess the meaning of new words
  • Matching word stems to create whole words.
