How to get started with critical writing

Description:

This workshop is useful if you are new to higher education or if you have been told that your work contains too much description and not enough evaluation, i.e. you are not writing critically.

Objectives:

  • Identify what is meant by critical thinking and reading.
  • Distinguish between descriptive and critical writing.
  • Identify the language of evaluation used in critical writing.
  • Understand which transferable skills this session will teach you for use in your future employment.

Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance, which contributes towards the UWE Bristol Futures Award.
