This compulsory session is for Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) who intend to teach here to explore the principles of teaching and learning and focus on the needs of those who are new to teaching.

It will allow you to discuss how adults learn, how you can use your research experience in the classroom, learn how to manage a group of learners and how to conduct an assessment of student work. This is now the minimum requirement for those Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) who want to teach in any format (eg demonstrating, assisting on field trips, lecturing, marking etc.) and the Human Resources Department will be required to check that this training has been completed when issuing contracts for work of this type.

This workshop is for PGRs who are either new to or inexperienced at teaching.
