Exploring spaces of 'green practices'

This event has now passed.

Date: 13 November 2017
Venue: Arnolfini, Bristol
Time: 15:00 - 17:00

Our three elements of space, conceived, perceived and lived, became connected by wandering and participant's videoing their conversations.

We will begin screening a short film from the participatory videos, as a departure point, to explore contradictions and tensions beyond the ideological 'Green Capital' narrative. As part of the legacy, we want to make space to continue these diverse and energising conversations asking "Is there another way?".

I have been playing with what we'll do in the workshop to keep it open for people to engage in conversations of their 'green' practices - these never stopped – and pose two questions:

What's taking space?

In the wanders, we did not go very far, nor very fast to explore Bristol's neglected spaces and we asked questions about living and working in a 'green' city; and

Movement and being moved?

This question is about how space was experienced through wandering and videoing.

How to attend

We encourage you to bring a guest. This might be a colleague from another organisation, a friend, or a volunteer from your organisation. Ideally, someone whom you don't see often and/or want to talk with about 'green' practices and would like to include in the conversation.

Numbers are limited so please register your places. This is a free workshop.
