Launch of QAA - HEA guidance for higher education providers on Education for Sustainable Development

This event has now passed.

Date: 17 October 2014
Venue: Severn Room, Exhibition and Conference Centre, Frenchay Campus
Time: 10:00 - 16:00

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the University of the West of England (UWE) invite you to attend a one-day event to mark the formal launch of new guidance for higher education providers on education for sustainable development (QAA/HEA ESD guidance).

The new guidance was developed by QAA working in partnership with the HEA, with the help of an expert advisory group chaired by Professor James Longhurst of UWE. The guidance was published in June 2014 - this event provides an opportunity to hear from representatives of the key organisations involved in its development. Speakers will introduce the guidance and outline the work that each organisation does to support higher education providers in this area.

The full programme will also feature a presentation from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) on the forthcoming sustainable development framework for higher education, which was subject to consultation earlier this year.

In addition to invited speaker sessions, the day will also feature an opportunity for delegates to discuss how they will implement the new guidance within the context of their own institutions, with input from members of the expert advisory group that helped to develop it.

This event will be of interest to programme leaders, teaching staff, institutional managers with responsibility for academic quality, sustainability leaders, and students and their representatives.

The full programme and joining instructions will be available in due course following initial registration.

This event is free to attend but please register your interest by Friday 10 October via this online form.
