Jon Moynihan OBE, Executive Chairman of PA Consulting Group will deliver a lecture entitled; Reflecting on the Continuing Economic Decline of the West as part of the Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series.

The Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series (Bristol DEAs) provides a unique opportunity to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership.

About the Lecture:

In his Address on 9 October 2013, Jon will identify major causes of the West's decline, showing also how it has been predicted for some decades, and the impact that counterproductive policies and actions are continuing to have today. Jon will look to the future and examine what is being done, and could be done, to reverse the decline.

Biography:

Jon Moynihan OBE is Executive Chairman of PA Consulting Group. PA has some 2,500 personnel with operations in some 20 countries. Jon is also Chairman and Joint Principal of Ipex, the early-stage science and technology venture capital firm, with four venture companies currently under management. Prior to joining PA, Jon worked with McKinsey and Company, Strategic Planning Associates, and First Manhattan Consulting Group. The early part of his career was spent working for War on Want and Save the Children in India and Bangladesh. He is a Distinguished Friend of Oxford, a Foundation Fellow at Balliol College, a member of the Dean's Council at Sloan School MIT, a Fellow of Gray's Inn, and a Member of Council at the Royal Albert Hall.

Jon has talked and written extensively over the last decade on the state of the Western economies. His piece on this topic, in August of last year in the Opinion page of the Times, was the most-read, most-commented on and most-forwarded article for that day; a video of Jon speaking on the financial crisis was for around a year one of the top 10 videos at MIT's video website, receiving some 65,000 views; and his presentation 'The Continued Economic Decline of the West', posted by Business Insider in the US last August, has received to date some 800,000 hits.

The Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series is delivered by the Bristol Business School in partnership with Bristol City Council, Business West, Bristol Post CBI, CMI, IoD, and the West of England LEP.
