The Alternative Series of talks by leading academics continues at the Watershed on Tuesday 6 December with a talk on ‘The world we have won: Reflections on the sexual revolution of our time’ by Professor Jeffrey Weeks from London South Bank University.

Jeffrey Weeks is one of Britain’s leading experts on the history and sociology of sexuality and intimate relations, and has published many books and articles on the topic. The most recent books include ‘Making sexual history’ (2000), ‘Same sex intimacies’ (with Brian Heaphy and Catherine Donovan, 2001), ‘Sexualities and Society: A Reader’ (2003 with Janet Holland and Matthew Waites) and ‘Sexuality (2nd edition 2004).

In this lecture Jeffrey Weeks weighs up the losses and gains of the unprecedented transformation of sexual mores over the past generation, offering new insights into the ways we live today.
