The University of the West of England is extending its range of language courses to include Cantonese and Portuguese. It is now possible to select from a choice of eleven languages from the hugely popular Institution-wide Language Programme (ILP).

Open to everyone the ILP also offers tuition in Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), English as a Foreign Language (EFL and Cambridge), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Languages are offered at various study levels from complete beginners (ILP level 1) through to advanced post A-level study (ILP level 3+). All these ILP classes will run subject to demand.

George Mann (ILP Coordinator) said, “Learning a new language is useful and fun for everyone, so do start this year. Whether you are preparing for a business trip abroad, for a holiday, or you feel like trying something new, language learning is an exciting and rewarding activity. Enrolments have begun for all classes now so it is important that you book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.”

Classes begin during the week commencing 3 October 2005 and run until May/June 2006.
