UWE applications up 17%

The University of the West of England (Bristol UWE) has seen one of the biggest rises in student applications in the country according to UCAS figures released today. The increase of 17% in degree applications is almost double the increase of all applications to higher education this year.

The biggest rises in applications has been in vocational subjects like computing, engineering and mathematics (+28%), building (+33%), education (64%), science (+12%) and art and design (38%).

Bristol UWE has seen a significant growth in applications over the last 10 years. It is investing in students by building a £75million student village and sports centre on its Frenchay Campus.
