Eight students from the University of the West of England are to receive prizes for the Performing Arts in a special ceremony at the Royal West of England Academy in Clifton on Monday 30 June 2003 at 6.30pm.

The eight students chosen for their acting, stage and musical ability and contribution to the University’s Performing Arts over the past year will receive their prizes from Simon Reade, Joint Artistic Director of the Bristol Old Vic.

Martin Freke, UWE’s Director of Music, says this now established annual event in the University’s Performing Arts calendar gives an opportunity for student talent to receive the recognition it deserves: “Here at UWE we have a number of very talented actors, performers and musicians who contribute to our performing arts programme. By their dedication and immense enthusiasm they act as a catalyst amongst the other students, and are a greatly valued part of our success.”
