Life beyond UWE - Go Global!

Issue date: 31 October 2016

On Wednesday 9 November it's Go Global Day!

So that means our wonderful Go Global Team will be out and about on campus to showcase the range of global opportunities on offer. Pop in to the Library foyer on Frenchay Campus between 11:00 and 15:00 to meet them and find out more about studying, volunteering or working abroad.

There will be talks throughout the day from Nike, EntryPark, British Council, Think Pacific and UWE Bristol's Study Abroad Team.

There's a huge range of opportunities available, from teaching English to children in Spain to monitoring wildlife in Indonesia!

Studying, working or volunteering abroad will be an unforgettable experience. As well as living and working in another culture, you'll be gaining extra skills and experience to make you stand out from other students entering the job market when the time comes to apply for a graduate job.

Chris, Aerospace Engineering, worked as an Aircraft Structures Development Intern in Germany, and has now secured a graduate job with the Ministry of Defence:

“It sounds cliché, but it is true that the first step is the hardest. There are always going to be difficulties and challenges to overcome with this kind of experience, but look at them as part of a big adventure.”

Polly Ann, Criminology, taught English in Thailand and was later offered an internship with the British Council in China:

“I am now much more competent in areas where I was lacking previously. If you get the opportunity – grab it with both hands!”

Who knows what opportunities global experience might lead on to in the future?
