UWE Bristol rises 11 places in 2017 Guardian League Table

The Guardian University League Tables 2017 published today [24 May 2016] shows UWE Bristol (the University of the West of England) rising 11 places from last year.

Improvements have been made in performance in five out of the eight categories featured in the tables:

*Up 5.6% - Feedback (percentage of final years satisfied with feedback and assessment by lecturers, based on the National Student Survey).

*Up 2.4% - Teaching quality (the percentage of final year students satisfied with the teaching they received, based on the NSS).

*Up 2.3% - Career after six months (percentage of graduates who find graduate level jobs, or are studying further, within six months of graduation).

*Up 1.5% - Course satisfaction (the percentage of final year students satisfied with overall quality, based on the NSS).

The money spent on students has also risen by 3%.

In the subject rankings UWE Bristol came top for Social Work and 6th in the country for Architecture.

The University has worked hard on improvements to key areas that matter to students – such as student feedback and teaching quality. In addition these results also demonstrate UWE Bristol's strength as a University that delivers strong employability for graduates.

Jane Harrington, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, said, “These results show we are a dynamic, resourceful institution, willing to put the needs of our students first and to continuously improve what we do. The results are also a great credit to the hard work of our staff who have created such significant improvements reflected in these scores.”

UWE Bristol moved up the league tables this year to 68th position from 79th in 2016.
