Sam Thomson, Director of Civic and Cultural Engagement at UWE Bristol, will join a distinguished panel of judges for the Digital Partnership Award Category of the Arts and Business Awards on 21 May.
The awards ceremony for the 35th Arts & Business Awards in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover will take place at BFI Southbank.
Sam Thomson is the only Higher Education representative invited to be part of this year's judging panel. She said, “Being invited to judge the Arts and Business Digital Partnership Award this year is a lovely acknowledgement of the expertise and growing reputation that UWE Bristol has for innovative partnership working with the Arts and Cultural sectors in the UK. UWE Bristol works closely and collaboratively with a wide range of organisations on projects which support growth and ambition in these sectors. This provides opportunities for UWE Bristol staff and students to use and develop their expertise in real-world settings.
“I am in prestigious company! My fellow judges are all recognised as UK leaders in the Arts, Creative and Cultural Industries, and collectively demonstrate the growing expertise that exists in the UK in partnership working across the Arts and Business sectors for the benefit of the UK Arts, Cultural and Creative Economies.
“It's great to work with colleagues from the business and wider arts and cultural sectors in these kinds of ways; it's just one of the ways we stay connected to the latest developments and industry insights as well as building strong relationships with a wide range of partners which have enormous potential to offer opportunities for future learning, sharing and collaboration."
