Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group, is the latest speaker to address the business community at the Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series (BDEAs).
Xavier's talk will discuss the potential the UK has to be a world leading international hub for high growth companies, outlining the UK's strengths and challenges in supporting these companies, and role the government can play. Xavier will focus on equity as a form of finance and its vital role in supporting growth and innovation in the economy.
The Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series (BDEAs) is one of the highlights of the University calendar and is a unique opportunity to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership, directly from the leaders of organisations driving UK business performance. The series is delivered by the Bristol Business School in partnership with ACCA, Bristol City Council, Bristol Post, Business West, CBI, CMI, FSB, IoD, and the West of England LEP.
Xavier Rolet joined the LSE Group Board on 16 March 2009 and became CEO on 20 May 2009.
Prior to joining the London Stock Exchange, Xavier was Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Brothers in France from July 2007 to 7 January 2009. He was appointed a member of the Lehman Brothers' European Operating Committee in 2003, having joined the firm in February 2000 in New York as deputy co-head of Global Equity Trading. In June 2000, he was promoted to co-head Global Equity Trading and in October 2001 transferred to London to take up the position of head of European and Asian Cash Equities, as well as becoming a member of the firm's Global Investment Banking Operating Committee. In September 2003, Xavier was asked to lead the newly-created European Senior Client Relationship Management Group a role in which he focused on managing the firm's relationships with its most senior corporate and institutional clients across the region.
There will also be an opportunity for the audience to put forward their issues and questions at this event.

The series of talks continue throughout the year and will feature Chairmen, CEOs and institutional leaders representing a variety of sectors.
John Cridland CBE, Director General, CBI will deliver the University's prestigious annual Bolland Lecture as part of the Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series on 18 June 2014 at UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre.
