Help is on hand for students who want to start an undergraduate course at UWE Bristol - even if they do not yet have a place.
UWE phone lines will be open from 07.00 on A-level results day - Thursday 15 August - to give advice.
Students can call UWE on +44(0) 117 32 83333 as soon as they get their exam results. Those who already have their exam results can apply now.
UWE Director of Marketing Keith Hicks says, “We will have around 500 places, particularly in areas of strong employer demand including business, law, creative industries, health science, radiotherapy, learning disabilities and mental health nursing. These courses will help students to prepare for excellent careers.
“UWE Bristol is in the top six of English universities for employment of its graduates according to Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) figures released in July this year.”
UWE has also brought together handy hints on how to cope with Clearing in the form of an animated video voiced by UWE students - Top 10 tips for dealing with UCAS Clearing.
In previous years UWE dealt with more than 7,000 calls from would-be students. Even though some people might be daunted by the prospect of Clearing, for many it has been a positive experience that can open new doors.
Claire Swaffield came to UWE through Clearing and has just been awarded a first class honours degree in Linguistics and English Language.
She said, “I came to UWE as it was my final opportunity to study linguistics, after I did not get the grades for my initial UCAS choices. Having said that, it was definitely one of the best things I have done and I'm so glad I ended up at UWE!”

Students who are offered a place through Clearing will be invited to UWE's Clearing Open Day on Friday 16 August 2013.
Taking data from Scottish universities into account, UWE is in the top twelve universities for employment in the whole of Great Britain, at number eight, according to a recent report on HESA figures.
