UWE Bristol is supporting government ambitions to create a highly skilled workplace with the introduction of 11 new Postgraduate Talent Scholarships across a wide range of subject areas. The UWE Postgraduate Talent Scholarships are open to all applicants with a home, UK or EU fee status.

Professor Steve West, UWE Vice-Chancellor, said, “We are very keen to ensure that people are not put off from studying at postgraduate level by the cost. The skills developed at this level are prized by industry. We have been working with partners to design programmes that provide graduates with the additional specialist skills that are most needed by employers. There are some extremely exciting developments in all subject areas across the University, for example the MA/MFA in Curating is run in conjunction with both the Watershed and the Arnolfini, two of Bristol's leading creative organisations, and the MSc in Environmental Consultancy has never been more relevant since Bristol was named the European Green Capital for 2015.”

Scholarships will be allocated by a panel on the basis of academic excellence using information from the University application form. Applicants for MA/MFA Curating and MA Documentary and Features will be invited to attend an interview and show a portfolio of their creative work.

Charlotte Hopes from the Postgraduate and Professional marketing team said, “We are very excited about these scholarships as we believe that they will offer opportunities to those who may have been be put off further study due to the high financial investment required. Bristol is a major commercial centre and we hope to be able to support the city and region through the provision of highly skilled graduates, making local and regional organisations more competitive.”

Applications must be submitted by Friday 19 July. The exceptions are MA Documentary and Features that has a deadline of Wednesday 31 July 2013 and MA/MFA Curating with a deadline of Friday 4 October 2013.
