UWE Bristol MA student selected for RTPI General Assembly

Issue date: 10 April 2013

Andrew Coulthurst, who is currently studying part time for an MA in Town and Country Planning at UWE Bristol, has been elected as a student/licentiate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) General Assembly.

The RTPI General Assembly is part of the governance structure of the Institute itself. The Assembly meets throughout the year and provides a forum for debate about the development of planning policy and practice. It is also responsible for the RTPI's corporate policy.

Andrew has high aspirations for his place on the board, he said, “As a current student I hope to be able to make the needs of student members heard. I am also looking forward to learning more about how the RTPI functions and how it seeks to influence the future direction of planning”.

Andrew plans to complete his part-time master's course whilst continuing in his current role as an Environmental Consultant.

The Department of Planning and Architecture would like to extend its congratulations to Andrew on his achievement.
