Delivering health and well-being for our local communities

Issue date: 12 December 2012

The most recent Joint Public Health Service/Academic meeting looked at how academia can help in the delivery of challenges identified in the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). Delegates included representatives from NHS Bristol, NHS South Gloucestershire, NHS Bath and North East Somerset, NHS North Somerset, Bristol City Council, UWE and the University of Bristol. Key outcomes included the formation of ideas for improved joint working between academia, NHS service organisations and local community representatives in the development and delivery of JSNAs.

The Joint Public Health Service/Academic group was established in order to share work programmes within the academic and NHS service fields of public health and meets twice a year. The next meeting will be held in June 2013 at the University of Bristol (date and topic for discussion TBC).
