New Director of Finance for UWE Bristol

William Liew will join UWE Bristol as Director of Finance on 12 November. He is currently Deputy Director of Finance at the University of Bristol. He will lead a strong team in Finance and will be joining the Vice-Chancellor's Executive.

William brings a wealth of experience – he has worked for KPMG in London and Bristol before moving to the University of Bristol in 1992. During his time at the University of Bristol he has worked in a number of finance positions and he was promoted to Deputy Director in 2005.

William Liew comments, “This appointment is a fantastic new challenge for me. I relish the opportunity to join UWE Bristol and I'm looking forward to playing a key part in its future.”

The appointment of William is linked to the move of Bill Marshall who will become Pro Vice-Chancellor (Commercial Director and Corporation Secretary). Bill Marshall will join the Vice-Chancellor's Directorate and he will focus on the delivery of a number of medium and long-term commercial strategic priorities for the University.

It is especially poignant for us that William studied for his MBA at UWE Bristol. He brings excellent experience of university financial management and will play an important part in overseeing the financial aspects of our ambitious Master plan.”
