Report gives latest picture of environmental technologies sector

Issue date: 23 November 2011

The UWE-led Environmental Technologies iNET has just published a report that provides the latest picture on how the environmental technologies sector is performing and gives crucial insight into emerging opportunities for innovation and growth.

Environmental Technologies 2010/2011 draws together substantial economic data, including 'macro' information about global and national sectors that provides context in the wider landscape, and 'micro' intelligence relating to specific technologies and sub-regional trends.

Launching the report iNET Director Professor Martin Biggs said "The 'environment' has sometimes been viewed by businesses as a burden - something with the potential to stifle innovation. Consideration of the economic reality reveals that the environment actually represents a major commercial opportunity. Launching the report is just the first step. Going forwards, this raw data will be used to assist our client businesses, partner organisations, academics, local government and others with their strategic planning."
