Media Practice documentary selected for International Film Festivals

A short documentary film by Media staff and a Media Practice graduate from the University of the West of England has been selected for not one but 4 international film festivals in 2010.

The Bristol Bike Project is a documentary is about the Bristol Bike Workshop, a volunteer-run, community bike project, repairing and recycling unwanted bicycles in order to provide them to underprivileged and marginalised groups in Bristol.

The film was shot in July 2009 by Alistair Oldham, Senior Lecturer, Media Practice, and David Neal, Senior Technical Instructor, Media Centre. It was edited by 2009 Media Practice graduate Steph Tasker.

In the past few months, the film has been selected for the One World Documentary Festival in Prague; the Unchosen Festival in Bristol; the International Bike Video Festival in Bochum, Germany; and the Videotheque section of the Sheffield International Documentary Festival.
