  • How can we make things better for health in Bristol?

    A unique exhibition, the first of its kind to be held in Bristol, will showcase the outstanding health innovation achievements in the city that have had a positive impact on people's lives and offer a glimpse into the future at what new developments might bring. The Bristol Health Innovation Showcase is the first exhibition from BRIG-H (Bristol Research and Innovation Group for Health), a partnership of universities and NHS Trusts committed to improving the health of people in Bristol and beyond through research, innovation and closer collaboration.

  • Exciting new Foundation Degree courses announced for 2011

    From September 2011 UWE's Department of Art and Design will be offering two exciting new pathways* of the Foundation Degree (FdA) in Creative Practices.

    Based at the Bower Ashton campus, each pathway is three year part time course, allowing students to undertake study at undergraduate level, while continuing to work in a related industry.

  • UWE presents the Madness musical 'Our House'

    This year's student production at the University of the West of England's Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) is 'Our House'. The show will be held at the Redgrave Theatre in Clifton from Wednesday 2 March to Saturday 5 March at 19:30 with a matinee on 5 March at 14:30.

    Bristol Cathedral Saturday 4 December 2010 at 19:30 The University of the West of England's Symphony Orchestra and Singers will this year be celebrating the work of four Italian composers at its autumn concert in Bristol Cathedral. The choir of 130 voices and symphony orchestra will present a festival of four acclaimed Italian masterpieces on Saturday 4 December at 19:30.

  • UWE awards honorary degree to UWE Chancellor

    The University of the West of England will award the Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University to Ann Elizabeth Oldfield Butler-Sloss GBE PC in recognition of her significant contribution to the University and society through her national and international work. The Honorary Degree will be conferred at the Awards Ceremony of Bristol Law School on Friday 26 November at Bristol Cathedral at 14.00.

  • £7.5 million won by UWE to create growth in SW

    The University of the West of England will lead three out of five iNets granted to the South West region. An investment of £13 million including European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) will create opportunities for businesses and researchers in the South West to develop networks to support job creation and product development. The iNets will run for three years from 2010 – 2013.
