    The University of the West of England (UWE) is hosting the Bristol Higher Education Convention on 5 and 6 April 2011 for around 12,000 young people who will be applying to go to university next year. The two day event will give Year 12 students from across the region the opportunity to find out about a huge range of courses and opportunities.

  • Exciting new Foundation Degree courses announced for 2011


    From September 2011 UWE's Department of Art and Design will be offering two exciting new pathways* of the Foundation Degree (FdA) in Creative Practices.

    Based at the Bower Ashton campus, each pathway is three year part time course, allowing students to undertake study at undergraduate level, while continuing to work in a related industry.

  • UWE presents the Madness musical 'Our House'


    This year's student production at the University of the West of England's Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) is 'Our House'. The show will be held at the Redgrave Theatre in Clifton from Wednesday 2 March to Saturday 5 March at 19:30 with a matinee on 5 March at 14:30.

    Students from the University of the West of England are set to keep the winter blues at bay this month with a series of health and wellbeing events as part of 'Feel Good February'. Now in its fifth successful year, Feel Good February is an opportunity for students and staff to focus on their health, fitness and wellbeing through a wide range of activities, taster sessions and events to help them get active and 'feel good'.

    Bristol Cathedral Saturday 4 December 2010 at 19:30 The University of the West of England's Symphony Orchestra and Singers will this year be celebrating the work of four Italian composers at its autumn concert in Bristol Cathedral. The choir of 130 voices and symphony orchestra will present a festival of four acclaimed Italian masterpieces on Saturday 4 December at 19:30.

  • UWE awards honorary degree to UWE Chancellor


    The University of the West of England will award the Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University to Ann Elizabeth Oldfield Butler-Sloss GBE PC in recognition of her significant contribution to the University and society through her national and international work. The Honorary Degree will be conferred at the Awards Ceremony of Bristol Law School on Friday 26 November at Bristol Cathedral at 14.00.
