    This year's student production at UWE Bristol is the new musical by Stiles and Drewe, Soho Cinders.

    The show can be seen at the Redgrave Theatre in Clifton from 12 to 15 March at 19:30 with a matinee on Saturday 15 March at 14:30.

  • Foundation stone laid for new student accommodation at UWE Bristol


    Construction has started at UWE Bristol on a £13m project to create 396 new student bedrooms in a town house style development on Frenchay Campus.

    Professor Steve West (Vice-Chancellor) will lay the foundation stone for the new development in a ceremony on Thursday 30 January 2014 at 13.30.

  • UWE Bristol wins award for outstanding energy-saving achievements


    UWE Bristol has been honoured with an award for 'Outstanding Achievement' for an impressive 10% in energy savings from 2009 – 2012.

    The award was given by environmental champion Jonathon Porritt at the Carbon Champion Awards 2013, where a number of businesses and organisations in the West of England were recognised for their impressive contributions towards cutting energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

    UWE Bristol's vision to build a university for the 21st Century came a step closer yesterday [ 6 June 2013] with outline planning permission for the University's Masterplan being granted by South Gloucestershire Council. The Masterplan aims to satisfy UWE's changing needs over the next 25 years with a range of building proposals supported by the necessary infrastructure.

  • UWE Bristol Stadium closer to becoming built


    UWE Bristol welcomes the news that Bristol City Council has been informed by the Secretary of State that he has approved the decision to grant planning permission to J Sainsbury's, for a mixed use development on the existing Bristol Rovers site.

  • UWE Bristol double winners at Fairtrade Business Awards for second year in a row


    UWE Bristol has won two awards for the second successive year at the annual South West Fairtrade Business Awards. The awards, which are sponsored by The Co-operative, were held at Bristol's Colston Hall and presented by chef and entrepreneur, Levi Roots on Friday 8 March.

    The UWE Coffee Cart, a joint venture between UWE Bristol and UWE Student Union, beat off stiff competition to pick up the award for Best Fairtrade Catering Outlet, whilst the UWE Student Union shop won gold in the Best Fairtrade Retailer category.

  • New £1 fare with launch of 3 stop rider on Bristol buses


    Mayor George Ferguson will be the first 3 stop rider passenger at College Green on Thursday 7 March 2013

    UWE Bristol and the University of Bristol have been working with Wessex buses to get fares down for Bristol passengers. Three stop journeys on all Wessex Red services will now cost just £1 with the new 3 stop rider fare.
