    Philosophers Cafe hosted by UWE Bristol graduates in Kingsdown

    Two graduates from UWE Bristol, Polly Theedom and Pam Marshall have organised a Philosophers Cafe to be held at the recently opened cafe and pop up venue – '40 Alfred Place' in Kingsdown, Bristol.

  • UWE Bristol Illustration student wins prize at Cheltenham Illustration Awards

    A student from UWE Bristol has won the student prize at the internationally acclaimed Cheltenham Illustration Awards.

    Brittany Molineux, a year 2 Illustration student, was presented with first prize for her winning entry, "Heavenly Reindeer Tale" at a recent awards ceremony hosted by the University of Gloucestershire and received an Apple IMac computer.

  • UWE Bristol graduate named Radiotherapy Student of the Year

    A graduate from UWE Bristol has won the Radiotherapy Student of the Year award. The award will be presented by the Society and College of Radiographers to Fran Roberts at a special ceremony at the House of Commons on Tuesday 8 November 2011. This is the third time in four years that a radiotherapy student from the University has been awarded this prestigious national prize.

    A student from UWE Bristol has designed an amazing sonic sculpture that makes music when viewers move around it.

    Harriet Bowman, a level 2 Fine Arts student has won a £1000 Ideas Fund Innovators award for a project entitled 'Field Song' that she has created in collaboration with London based musician Ben Socrates.

    A Product Design graduate from the University of the West of England has been shortlisted for the national UK heat of the James Dyson Award. This prestigious award is an international student design award running in 18 countries. It's run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson's charitable trust, as part of its mission to encourage the next generation of design engineers.

    'Gloryfest 2011' brings together people from all backgrounds and takes place at the Colston Hall in Bristol on Sunday 18 September at 19:00.

  • UWE graduate wins Mullany Prize for excellence in physiotherapy

    The Mullany Prize for Excellence in physiotherapy has been won by deserving student Chris Jones from the University of the West of England. The Mullany Fund was set up in memory of Ben and Catherine Mullany, whose lives were tragically cut short on their honeymoon in Antigua in 2008.

  • UWE animation students win Crazy Horse short film competition in Stuttgart

    Final year students from the University of the West of England's Bristol School of Animation, Constantinos Mavromichalis and Dane Winn, have won the Crazy Horse Session, a competition at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film. They competed with other teams of international animators to create a short film using the festival mascot – a Crazy Horse - in just 48 hours.
