400 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WELCOMED TO BRISTOL

Bristol’s two universities are to welcome 400 international students who have chosen to study in the city. Students will attend an International Student Reception on Wednesday 9 October at Explore-at-Bristol at 6pm.

The purpose of the event is to welcome students to Bristol. Alfred Morris, Vice-Chancellor of the University of the West of England and Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bristol will make short welcoming speeches. The guest of honour is the Lord Mayor of Bristol who will also welcome the students to the city.

Neil Harrison, UWE’s Head of Student Advice and Welfare has organised the event. He said, "International students play a vital role in the academic and cultural life of the city. The event is a great opportunity to welcome them to Bristol with a bang and give them the chance to meet other students from around the world.”

The students will enjoy a buffet supper and get a chance to meet each other and staff from both universities.
